Décio Muianga is holds an MA in Archaeology from the University of Witwatersrand (2013), a BA (Honours) in History and a BA (Honours) in Archaeology by Eduardo Mondlane and Witwatersrand universities, respectively.
He is a lecturer at the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology at Eduardo Mondlane University and has conducted surveys, excavations and has produced management plans in Mozambique, South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe. He has also worked in setting up the Manica Museum and Cultural Centre. His ongoing research focuses on the documentation and interpretation of rock art and Later Stone Age in Central and Northern Mozambique.
